As with my current spiral series, this sculpture is about the interaction of the spirals and the space they create. A circular saw blade is welded to a tube, which is welded to the larger shank, that “traps” the non weldable aluminum gear beneath the steel gear. I enjoy this kind of engineering. This makes an attractive accent for the base. The shaped rods are welded to each other at their base & that part to the top of the shank. I like the contrast and up-lifting energy in this gracious sculpture, that can live outside or inside.
